Poof! Gone, like it never existed on my system.and guess what.if the 30 day trial period wasn't long enough for me, in most instances I can re-install the demo on the refreshed HDD image restore and try it out for another 30 days.
HITFILM PRO PLUG INS INSTALL
I'll install a demo, try it out and if I don't like it, just go back and restore an image prior to the demo installation.

Try to do the same with Vegas Effects and there's a cloud of uncertainty, where no one even on the user forum seems to know and the only answer is "Well try out the demo and find out for yourself." Personally, I despise installing demo products on my PC because it pollutes the Windows registry with a bunch of unwanted garbage which tends to only cause future system problems.Īnd that is one of the major reasons I create system HDD image backups. Just like I can now look at FXHome's Hitfilm Pro and know without a doubt that it does indeed support OFX plugins. You should be able to look at a product feature spec listing and know for certain or not if it supports a common feature such as OFX plugins or not but instead we get a bunch of glitzy fluff splattered all over a webpage telling me how Vegas Effects is going to make my life better and help me lose the extra 15lbs of weight I'm carrying around. IMHO, this exact type of scenario as to why professionals don't take Vegas seriously.

I was selfishly and silently routing for you to go with the Vegas Post bundle because I was hoping there would be someone on this forum who could reliably answer my burning question in determining if Vegas Effects supports OFX 3rd party plugins or not. Well Damn it! Now you've gone and done it.

I know I can just download the HitFilm demo, but if I could just get some quick bullet-points from you guys on why you think Vegas' NLE is superior to HitFIlm's NLE, I would greatly appreciate it!Īsus 17.3" Republic of Gamers Strix G17 model: 77H0ROG1. Also, I assume those who own both licenses use a hybrid approach: Vegas for editing/audio-post HitFilm for effects-compositing, round-tripping to and from Vegas when necessary. I assume the answer from this community is going to be, "Vegas!" That it's the "better" all-around NLE for most users and that its audio-post features in particular are likely superior to those in HitFIlm's NLE. Use HitFilm's NLE instead of Vegas and stay in my macOS-ecosystem and get a faster MacBook Pro. I get more performance-per-dollar in a PC-laptop, so stay with Vegas Pro for editing.Ģ. (I'm hoping my late-2015 Core i7/40GB iMac may be capable enough to run HitFilm's NLE and its effects-engine, but perhaps not.) Basically, the decision is:ġ. Since HitFilm's NLE runs on both Windows and macOS, if I found Hit Film's editor to be as good or "better" than Vegas Pro, I could return the PC laptop and instead use that money toward the purchase of a new, faster MacBook Pro. I just bought a new Windows laptop (arriving today) just to be able to use Vegas on-the-go (since I'm all-macOS, otherwise). However, I gather there's less round-tripping with Vegas Post than with a Vegas + HitFilm-workflow, but not sure if that makes up for Vegas Effects' "missing" features.īut then I came to another decision-point: I'm choosing this over Vegas Post, mainly because when comparing Vegas Effects with HitFilm Pro, there just seems to be too much to give up to choose Magix' version of HitFIlm versus the real deal from FXhome. So I've pretty much decided on taking advantage of the current 32%-off promotion for the HitFilm Pro + Ignite Pro Video Bundle for $437.
